Ensemble Phoenix Munich

Band

For more than ten years Joel Frederiksen and his in 2003 established Ensemble Phoenix Munich (EPM) show how exciting modern Old Music can sound like. Apart from their own concert series in Munich the ensemble is also touring international. The repertoire includes works from the Renaissance and Baroque as well as music from the American Pioneer era. The awarded records and programs of the Ensemble (i. e. The Elfin Knight, Rose of Sharon, Requiem for a Pink Moon) have an extraordinary originality and precision in historic style. The musicians mostly play on original Instruments or replicas. Parallel to that they also order new works of contemporary composers. Many guest-plays led the Ensemble Phoenix Munich, whose name is symbolic for creativity, renewal and passion, to countless famous festivals such as Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, Tage Alter Musik in Herne, Gent Festival OdeGand, Festival Internacional de Arte Sacro in Madrid, Prager Frühling or Budapester Frühlingsfestival amongst others.
